An experienced attorney driven by his clients’ success – both in and out of the courtroom – Tyler Layton brings litigation and investigations expertise to his practice at The Norton Law Firm.
As a litigator practicing in state and federal courts, Tyler’s practice has focused on representing large institutional clients related to an array of consumer protection issues. Tyler’s commercial litigation experience also includes successfully representing clients in intellectual property disputes, post-judgment collection efforts, pre-litigation matters, mediation and arbitration, and on appeal.
Tyler has significant experience advising clients facing civil or criminal liability under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, as well as representing individuals and entities subject to investigations and enforcement by government agencies. In addition, Tyler has provided pro bono representation to indigent criminal defendants as part of the federal Criminal Justice Act program.
After graduating from the UC Davis School of Law in 2012, Tyler began his career at the San Francisco office of Reed Smith LLP. In 2016, Tyler moved to the San Francisco office of Vinson & Elkins LLP, where he practiced as a Senior Associate in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation group, focusing on government investigations and white collar defense. In recognition of his work, Tyler was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2018 and again in 2019.
