The Norton Law Firm PC supports Perkins Coie, Covington & Burling, Jenner & Block, and the many brave lawyers who have rallied to their defense and the defense of the rule of law. We oppose unjustified and unconstitutional efforts to intimidate lawyers and law firms who take on causes adverse to an administration or its officers. Throughout our country’s history, people have relied on lawyers to stand up for them and against powerful adversaries, including the federal government. The enduring belief that these cases will be decided fairly and justly by an impartial judiciary is a profound tribute to the ideals of the First Amendment and the rule of law. Government intimidation of and reprisals against lawyers, because of the clients they represent or the causes they advocate, betray those ideals. Regardless of party, no citizen should support it, no lawyer should abide it.
We will join the forthcoming amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie in its lawsuit against the current administration and encourage our colleagues to do the same.
